Nobody knows what "biblically accurate" means.
Quite a few of the other comments prove otherwise, but ok. Anyways, for anyone who stumbles on your comment and was wondering what "biblically accurate" means: It's a meme originating from a discussion where people claimed that “biblically accurate angels” are much more illustrious and abstract in design in comparison to what we generally think of in regard to angels. If you search for images of “biblically accurate angels”, you’ll see what I mean.
Horrible
What... The... HELLY... HELL
Once you have heard Horowitz’s rendition of this piece, you will forget everything else
She is one my favorite pianist these days. Exquisite playing and very musical. Her Rach 3 is totally mesmerizing.
This is like Alto suddenly singing while Chopin play this in saloon
Idk how the speed he achieves at 11:35 is even possible
Everyone here who likes this performance please listen to Josef Hofmann play it. He does the "hidden' melody thing even better. It's just amazing.

Sensitive, poetic, mysterious…bravo!
There's a huge difference: the pedals are like piano keys! If you stomp different the notes sound different, you cannot simply depress a lever like an organinst, you cannot slide lightly between heel an toes for speed pedalling. Like a Baroque organists you are going to use only toe pedalling.
wow that's the most unique rendition of this piece I have heard.
Simply the best
This is NOT how to perform this piece. This is self- indulgent and distracting.
You say self-indulgent and distracting. I say unique and memorable lol
I agree. It doesn't sound as good.
Why make it more complicated when it is already beautiful. Evgeny kissin and Rousseau are the only one who play it the right way
❤
真優美❤
I like Sorabji better
Which album is this version from? I found and slower and a faster tempo version from Mischa but not this one.

편곡이 너무 맘에 들어요😊
Chopin's… _hidden melodies… abound!_
This sounds like actual hell and looks like it more 😃
now there's a tempo people can dance/waltz to
That's genius
Its melody is really obvious, every pianist plays like that

Muy buena interpretación "de entre las 3 mejores" de este genero "no inventado" por chopin... 😊
Optimum.
10:42 You know what's scarier than the octave glissando? Playing these parallel thirds at this tempo...
The waltzes are fabulous! Second one, especially, left me drinking to forget.
I actually stopped paying heed to composers' instructions because every single recording of a composer playing his own work sounds bonkers to me. Stravinsky and Bolcomb come to mind but there are many others that left me scratching my head and lunging for my Yefim Bronfman or Martha Argerich.
The San Francisco Symphony hands out cough drops, gratis, for winter programs, and precedes each performance with a quiet but commanding reminder to power down cell phones. Very classy, I think.
Can't decide between this and #24 for polishing off my funeral program. This guy was clearly on the wrong medication, but still, I'm glad he fleshed out the last dark corner of the Western Music repertory; it was the one labeled "I'd turn back if I were you."
By the way, if you wanted to hear someone actually play it: ua-cam.com/video/fu1y2-qUqas/v-deo.html
Einfach grandios gespielt!!!😊
A Violoncello da Spalla could play the Violin music sounding an Octave lower than written.
Yeah, this is pretty weak. The nicest tone in the world can’t make up for utter rhythmic and melodic incoherence, which is what we hear here.
*what you hear here
@@TheExarion Nah, this sounds like garbage compared to Hamelin’a version, lol
To you, sure it does lol I personally prefer Bolet’s studio version over Hamelin’s by a long shot. But I’m at least willing to admit that I have a bias towards voicing lol
@@TheExarion I have bias towards melodic coherency, almost totally lacking in this performance.
I feel like that’s more Godowsky’s fault than Bolet’s. Many of the melody notes (in the RH) are not on-beat.
vent? SUS!!!!!!!
Music cannot possibly get any more beautiful than this.
Браво .Прекрасне виконання,бездоганне, віртуозне,емоціййне.
I’m currently learning this
I've always preferred Bolet's performances of Godowsky because he worked these pieces under Godowsky himself.😊
Var. XV is very beautiful by itself but it hits very different after all these variations before it. Despite it probably being the only happy-ish variation, it is the one that makes me feel the most sad when l listen to this piece
Also the last three variations slap so hard
It sounds like they're playing in baroque tuning
What is this bro????😂😂😂😅. It will take 2000 yrs for me to play this 😂.
Trying real hard to be upbeat. And this music helps. I appreciate this music.
2/8 and 5/4 at the same time damn
1:57 Fantastic!!!!!!!
İt honestly looks just like someone's joking
Wonder which fingerings most pianists adopt for left hand, the upper or lower fingerings? I think both have their disadvantages… lower fingerings I imagine not as fast tempo.
Intonation
u play it then lol
